We've all seen the Attenborough documentaries. The ocean is choking with plastic. And every year at least another 8 billion tonnes of plastic enters the ocean. It is now predicted that by 2050 plastic will outnumber fish in the oceans. Using plastic is so embedded in our lifestyle that it’s easy to feel powerless in the face of statistics like this. But we want to offer people a simple way of making a difference. Funding plastic clean-ups, which aim to intercept plastic before it reaches the ocean, is a major part of what we do. All of our plans clean up the average UK plastic footprint, so you can become plastic positive.
Blue Carbon
The ocean is not immune to climate change. It absorbs almost a third of all carbon emissions and is subsequently warming and acidifying at a rapid rate. But the ocean is also home to a range of ecosystems which can help to mitigate climate change. Coastal and marine ecosystems, including mangroves, seagrass meadows and kelp forests, are some of the densest and most efficient carbon sinks on the planet. That’s why we always have an eye out for marine projects to offer us some of the best nature-based solutions.
Plastic Bank

Plastic Bank works to prevent plastic from reaching the ocean. They have already stopped the equivalent of 1 billion plastic bottles from entering the ocean.

Plastic Bank removes plastic from watercourses within 50km of the coastline that would otherwise we be swept to sea, harming marine life.
